1-Dialogue between Ahmed and Charles

Ahmed: I feel so hot. This weather is terrible.
Charles: How about some iced tea Ahmed!
Ahmed: iced tea what’s that?
Charles: well, it’s called tea. We put ice in it. We drink a lot of it in the summer.
Ahmed: well it looks very cold. I’ll try some. Say this tastes good.
Charles: I’m glad you like it. Have a little more.
Ahmed: Thanks, I will.

2-verbs smell look seem

Does the weather seem hot?
It seems very hot.

Does the kitchen seem small?
It seems very small.

Did the coffee taste good?
It tasted very good.

Did the cake taste good too?
It tasted very bad.

Doesn’t Ann look nice today?
She looks very nice.

Does this coat look too big?
It looks too big for you.

Do these roses smell good?
They smell very good.

Did the food smell bad?
It smelled very bad.

Does that chair feel comfortable?
Yes, it feels very comfortable.

Did you feel good yesterday?
I felt fine yesterday.

3- “how”+ both affirmative and negative form

How does the weather seem?
It doesn’t seem pleasant. It seems too hot.

How does the kitchen seem?
It doesn’t seem very big. It seems too small.

How did the coffee taste?
It did not taste good. It tasted terrible.

How did the cake taste?
It didn’t taste bad. It tasted very good.
How did Ann look today?
She didn’t look very good. She looked a little tired.

How does this coat look?
It doesn’t look good. It looks too small.

How do these roses smell?
They don’t smell bad. They smell very nice.

How does that chair feel?
It doesn’t feel comfortable. It feels very hard.

How are you feeling today?
I’m not feeling very good. I felt terrible last night.

4- “Be” negative and affirmative form

How are you today?
I am fine.

How were you yesterday?
I was fine yesterday too.

Is the coffee hot?
No, it’s not hot.

Is this cake good?
Yes, it’s very good.

Were you and frank busy last night?
No, we weren’t busy.

Your kitchen is very small.
But the living-room is large.

Aren’t you hungry?
Yes, I am a little hungry.

Are you tired?
No, I am not very tired.
